In nominating Charles Thompson for Filta’s quarterly outstanding technician award, North Carolina franchise owner Jim McCormick called him “the perfect employee…you could eat off the floors in Chuck’s van.”
For Chuck’s part, he said he likes “taking something really dirty and making it look good because that makes the client happy. It’s a great job for me.”
“He takes real pride in his work,” McCormick said. “Chuck’s equipment is always clean and he always looks professional. His customers love him and his fryers all look new when he is finished with them.”
Not only does Charles drive to serve clients in a six-county area, but he also manages the warehouse in Fayetteville, NC.
“Chuck takes pride in his job and, to me, he’s a perfect ambassador for Filta,” added McCormick.
This month (August 2019), Charles celebrates his four-year anniversary working with McCormick’s Filta business. A family man, the 61-year-old recently remarried and the newlyweds have three adult children between them. But what he’s really looking forward to is the birth of his first grandchild this fall.
“I love to think about my little buddy riding with Grandpa when I retire so we can spend time together,” Chuck grinned.
As Filta’s Tech of the Quarter for Q2 2019, Chuck receives an Amazon gift card, a plaque and an official thank you from executives in Orlando who feel strongly about recognizing the outstanding technicians that interact with customers on behalf of the entire system of independent franchise owners. Filta Environmental Kitchen Solutions acknowledges exemplary techs, who are often the face of the Filta brand, with the Tech of the Quarter to show system-wide appreciation.
All quarterly winners from 2019 will be considered for the Tech of the Year award to be given at the brand’s annual conference, FiltaCon, to be held in 2020. Dylan Pothan from Chattanooga, Tenn. won Tech of the Year at FiltaCon in July 2019.
